Esma Voloder
BIOGRAPHY – Esma Voloder was born on June 7, 1992 in a refugee camp as the first child of her family. Begajeta and Mevludin Volader took refuge in this refugee camp during the Serbian occupation of Bosnia, escaping the war. After a while, the Voloder family moved to Australia, which they saw as a safe haven to save their future, and settled in Melbourne. Here her brother Edin Voloder was born. Her inclination towards music began at an early age when she learned to play the piano. She created and drew many characters that would attract children’s attention in her charcoal drawings. Over time, she also tried coloring them. Her artistic tendencies towards fashion and brand promotion developed under the influence of her mother.

Religious belief has an important place in Esma’s life. Esma, who believes in Islam, hopes to use this title to eliminate people’s misconceptions about her religion.
When Esma won the Miss Australia Globe title, she gave an interview and made some assessments about her faith. In this assessment, she said, “I do not associate Islam, which I learned from the Quran, with any religious action that takes place in the world.”
“People tend to blame religion for the atrocities that happen, but if we do that, we take the responsibility away from individuals. And then we cannot evaluate them and deal with them effectively because we blame an external source.”
Esma concluded her speech on the subject by saying, “There are many misunderstood things about Islam. I feel that a category that the Quran truly promotes has not been created. I believe that Islam is about peace, unity, prosperity and inclusiveness.”

My own written mission statement is that experience has taught me that empathy and health on a spiritual, mental and physical level simultaneously create an opportunity for equality to flourish. Empathy is our ability to feel for others and it ignites motivation for change and enables the achievement of multidimensional health, education, jobs, opportunities and greater Human Rights. Empathetic and understanding givers demonstrate patience, tolerance and gratitude. These are important qualities to possess and share in order to create a more positive world.
